The rifle can be any lever action rifle that is feed by a tube. We shoot small bore and Pistol cartridge on range two on the 2nd Saturday of every month. Small bore is 22 LR. And pistol cartridge is any straight wall rimed cartridge, Mild loaded ammunition or store bought cowboy loads work very well. The matches are 40 rounds 10 shots at each of the steel animals. Chickens at 40 meters, pigs at 50 meters, turkeys at 75 meters and rams at 100 meters. All matches are shot standing as per NRA rules.  The rifle must be open sighted but you can put tang sights on or shoot it as is. The best way to see what every one is doing is to come to a match and ask questions. This is the friendliest bunch of guys and will answer every question.  2013 matches JAN 12TH, FEB 9TH, MARCH 9TH, APRIL 13TH, MAY 11TH, JUNE 8TH, JULY 13TH, AUGUST 10TH, SEPTEMBER 14TH, OCTOBER 12TH, NOVEMBER 9TH, DECEMBER 14TH  HUNTERS PISTOL SILHOUETTE This involves shooting at steel cutouts (silhouettes) in the shape of various animals, sitting at various distances. They are shaped like chickens, pigs, turkeys, and rams and are set at distances of 40 meters, 50 meters, 75 meters, and 100 meters respectively. The animals are set on a steel rail and when hit solidly fall from the rail.  There are actually four competitions. The first two are Small bore Hunters Pistol that is fired with 22LR ammunition. There is a scope class and open sight class.  The other two are Hunters Pistol, which are shot with any straight walled pistol cartridge up to 45 caliber. Three bottlenecked cartridges are allowed, the 22 Hornet, 32-20 and the 25-20. The gun can be any gun that is available to the general public not weighting more than 5 pounds and not having a barrel any longer then 12 inches long. Changes allowed are grips, sights and trigger jobs.  Matches are shot at the same targets and distance the cowboy match.  Both are shot at the same time.  Our matches are sponsored by NRA.
